Yes. LED fixtures (luminaires) are more efficient than LED bulbs. There are many reasons LED light fixtures are more efficient than LED bulbs. The easiest areas to look for are the output to consumption (lumens to watts) and the life span (+15,000hrs for bulbs to +50,000hrs for fixtures).

You can simply retrofit an old light fixture by upgrading the bulbs or lamps to a LED equivalent. You can also use an LED retrofit kit specifically for a particular style or type of light fixture. In some lighting retrofit cases, you will require a new ballast or remove the ballast altogether; in others, you leave the old ballast in place.

An integrated LED fixture is a light fixture, or Luminaire, designed and built specifically with LED components such as the LED chip board and Driver. These integrated LED fixtures (luminaires) are designed and tested in their designated housing or casing, bringing you a longer life span (up to 200,000 hrs), better light output, and more control.

To retrofit a light means to upgrade the working components to more efficient parts. In lighting, you can use a lighting retrofit kit which are often made for specific styles of light fixtures. You can also upgrade the light bulb from incandescent to LED or replace the old fixture with a new LED fixture.

Short answer, Yes! LED lights are more efficient and, in some cases, up to 90% more efficient than your traditional light sources being replaced.   However, not all LED fixtures (luminaires) are made equally, costing you more (headaches and money) than you signed up for.
